SUMMARY:Green Streets Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Watershed Management Group is excited to team up with the City of Mesa\, Mesa Urban Garden and Republica Empanada to install a stormwater harvesting retrofit along 1st Ave in downtown Mesa. The first retrofit for Low Impact Development in the City of Mesa\, this project will harvest stormwater from the street to irrigate trees and shrubs\, shading and beautifying the streetscape while capturing and cleaning stormwater. \nPlease join us on Saturday\, November 1 from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm as we bring this project to completion. The heavy digging will be completed in advance\, and participants will help to put plants in the ground\, complete rock work for armoring against erosion\, and put the finishing touches on this exciting project. WMG staffers Ryan Wood and James DeRoussel will lead the workshop\, and offer participants an educational opportunity on rainwater harvesting\, green infrastructure\, low impact development\, and the use of native plants in water harvesting landscapes. \nThis workshop is limited to 25 participants and advanced registration is required. \nClick here to sign up.
