This approach creates a beautiful and practical landscape that reduces water usage\, provides cooling shade\, and is much easier to maintain. \nCity of Mesa staff will present information about Mesa’s Grass-to-Xeriscape Landscape Program\, which now offers up to $1\,100 for qualifying conversions. Following this\, our favorite AZ Plant Lady\, Noelle Johnson\, will discuss options for grass removal and design concepts for new landscapes. Noelle is the author of two recent books: Dry Climate Gardening: Growing Beautiful\, Sustainable Gardens in Low-Water Conditions and The Water-Smart Garden: Techniques and Strategies for Conserving\, Capturing\, and Efficiently Using Water in Today’s Climate… and Tomorrow’s. Books will be available for purchase at the presentation. \nAll attendees will have a chance to win one of Noelle’s books and a $50 gift card to a local nursery.
