WATER CONSERVATION EXPO, PROVIDED BY SRP

February 3, 2016

Buy a Smart Irrigation Controller at a Discounted Price: Just $50*

Phoenix valley residents are invited to learn about water conservation and Valley water supplies at the ninth annual SRP Water Conservation Expo on March 5, 2016. Approximately 50 exhibitors will be at the event, including municipalities, water organizations, the Water – Use It Wisely campaign, and vendors with water-efficient products.

At the expo, you can purchase a “smart” irrigation controller for $50 plus tax* (retail value $314.15; limit one per household). Smart controllers automatically tailor watering schedules and run times on sprinklers or drip systems to meet specific landscape needs. These systems use weather data and/or site conditions to determine how much water to apply and when to run. The cycle and soak feature allows the controller to adjust run times based on soil conditions and slope to reduce/eliminate water run-off. Smart controllers can reduce water use by as much as 20% – a significant savings considering landscape watering can account for up to 70% of a household’s water use!

SRP Water ExpoSRP has partnered with Ewing Irrigation and Rain Bird to provide this special price on a professional-series Rain Bird ESP-SMTe outdoor four-station controller (expandable to 22 stations). The discount is limited to the first 800 SRP power and water customers who register for and attend the expo.

Additional three-station expansion modules will be available for the smart controller at the discounted price of $15 plus tax* (retail value $53.55; limit three per household). SRP customers who attend also will receive a water-saving Niagara showerhead ($14.99 value; one per household while supplies last).

Visit srpnet.com/expo for additional information and to register.

Check with your water provider, as many offer irrigation controller rebates and may be able to assist with the cost of the controller such as the cities of Chandler, Peoria, and Scottsdale. Contact your local water conservation office for details. For more information on smart irrigation controllers, visit SRP’s Facts and Questions page. Remember there are a number of ways to save water, and they all start with you.

*Customer is responsible for sales tax on the Ewing Irrigation discounted prices of $125 for the controller and $25 for the module.
