Indoor Water Conservation

Water-Saving Showerhead:
This WaterSense certified showerhead has a high efficiency flow rate of just 1.5 gallons per minute (GPM). It works by mixing air into the stream of water, maintaining a satisfying pressure reducing your water usage with every shower. By switching from a high-flow showerhead (typically 3.5 GPM or more) you can save thousands of gallons of water every year. It’s a small change that makes a big impact on both your water and energy bill.

5-Minute Shower Timer:
Perfect for kids and adults alike! This fun sandglass-style timer makes it easy to keep track of your shower time. With a handy suction cup, simply attach it to your shower wall, rotate to start, and challenge yourself to finish before the sand runs out! By keeping showers under 5 minutes, you can save up to 1,000 gallons of water each month. It’s a simple way to stay on track and make a big impact on water conservation!

Bathroom Faucet Aerator:
This WaterSense-certified aerator delivers a 0.5 gallon per minute (GPM) flow rate, fitting most bathroom sink fixtures. By mixing air into the water stream, it helps reduce water usage without sacrificing pressure, making it perfect for your daily routine. Note: These aerators are designed for bathroom sinks and are not recommended for kitchen sinks, which need a higher flow rate for everyday tasks. Save water effortlessly, one tap at a time!

Toilet Tank Bag:
This simple but effective tool helps you save water by displacing some of the water in your toilet’s tank, reducing water use with every flush. The bag is easily filled with water and clipped to the rim of the reservoir tank. Tip: If you have a smaller tank, you can partially fill the bag, but make sure it’s not too light, as it may float. Also, ensure the bag’s placement doesn’t interfere with any parts like the flapper or flush lever. Note: Newer high-efficiency toilets use less water per flush and may not benefit from using a toilet tank bag.

Plumber’s Tape:
Plumber’s tape, also called pipe tape or Teflon tape, is a handy, stretchy film used to seal threaded pipe connections, preventing leaks and ensuring a tight seal. It helps lubricate the threads and fills in any gaps to stop water from escaping. Tip: Use plumber’s tape when installing new showerheads or other fixtures to ensure everything is leak-free and working efficiently!

Toilet Tank Dye Strips:
Leaky toilets can potentially waste hundreds of gallons per day as water leaks from the tank into the toilet, then down the drain. These leaks aren’t always apparent, but using a dye strip allows you to test your flapper. Simply put a strip into the reservoir tank and wait 20 minutes. If there is dye in the toilet bowl, then you likely need a new flapper. Tip: Take the old flapper with you to the store to ensure you get the correct size and type of flapper for your specific toilet model.

Drip Gauge:
Wondering how much water a leaky faucet is really wasting? Now you can find out! This handy drip gauge shows exactly how much water a leak is costing you over time. Just hold the vial under the leak for 5 seconds and it will show how many gallons are wasted per day and per year. Plus, as a bonus, the drip gauge can be used to help determine your drip emitter output in gallons per hour (GPH), by using our chart included in the box.
Outdoor Water Conservation

Automatic Hose Timer:
This mechanical hose timer is perfect for outdoor use, as it doesn’t rely on batteries or electronics. Simply turn the dial to choose your desired watering time (1–120 minutes), start watering, and the timer will automatically shut off the flow when the cycle ends. Tip: Never forget to turn off the water again—this timer does it for you!

Drip Irrigation Repair Kit:
Drip irrigation is an efficient way to water your desert landscaping. This kit includes goof plugs and a connector. Goof plugs are used to repair holes in mainline poly tubing where an emitter or micro-tubing connector was removed, or to plug the end of 1/4” drip line (micro-tubing). It’s a simple way to stop watering areas where plants have been removed or no longer need water. The connector helps repair a poly line break by joining two sections together. Tip: Keep your irrigation system running smoothly—this kit is perfect for quick repairs, so you won’t waste water!
