If you plant it (milkweed), they (monarchs) will come! Monarch populations are declining at a rapid rate due to many factors, including the loss of milkweed habitat. Natalie Melkonoff, Plant and Insect Ecology Program Manager at the Desert Botanical Garden, will discuss the monarch and the right type of milkweed and nectar plants to use when creating a monarch-friendly habitat. Participants will get to take home free desert milkweed seeds.
