SRP Water Conservation Expo
Valley residents are invited to learn how to save water and money by participating in the sixth annual SRP Water Conservation Expo on March 2, 2013. Those attending the free expo will learn about water-saving devices for the yard and home. Booths featuring SRP energy-efficiency and environmental programs will also be featured along with several exhibitors with water-saving products or services. Representatives from Valley cities, the Arizona Municipal Water Users’ Association, the Central Arizona Project and the Water Use it Wisely campaign will also attend. Also the water-saving device, “smart” irrigation controller will be offered at a discounted price.
The first 600 SRP electric customers and water shareholders who register for and attend the expo will be eligible to purchase a “smart” irrigation controller for $50 plus tax and save as much as $240 on the retail price of a Rain Bird ESP-SMT4. (Customer is responsible for sales tax on the Ewing discounted price of $130). The WaterSense-labeled four-station controller, which is easily expandable to 13 stations, uses weather data to manage outdoor watering schedules more effectively; it can deliver water savings of up to 25 percent – a significant savings considering landscape watering can account for up to 70 percent of a household’s water use. Three-station expansion modules are available at the event for $18 per module plus tax. (Customer is responsible for sales tax on the Ewing discounted price of $28).
SRP customers who attend the expo will receive a water-saving Niagara showerhead, a $19.95 value, while supplies last. Only one smart irrigation controller rebate and one showerhead are available per household.
