Watson Lake, located outside of Prescott, AZ was created as a man-made lake and reservoir in the early 1900s when the Arizona Land and Irrigation Company built a dam on Granite Creek. The reservoir was purchased by the city of Prescott in 1997 to not only preserve it as a local water source but to also have it serve as recreational land. It is host to many activities including hiking, rock climbing, fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, birding, and picnicking.

Located in the beautiful Granite Dells, Watson Lake is about 4 miles from Prescott, Arizona, at 3101 Watson Lake Road. The lake encompasses about 380 surface acres and is recognized by its calm waters and massive, weathered boulders of the Granite Dells.
